Sky Cinema moves into podcasting with ‘Cinema Dates’

Darby Dorras
Director of Content
22nd September 2023

💘🍿 Sky Cinema’s first original podcast, Cinema Dates, is a unique reality dating show that matches real singles and follows them on an old school date at the movies.

Developed and created by Listen, each date will be narrated with wry and witty asides and observations by iconic comedian Michael Spicer, famed for his social series “The Room Next Door”.

In an innovative format that organically brings Sky Cinema to podcast listeners, the daters will watch films available to view on Sky Cinema, with their summaries, reviews, and dating-exchanges at the heart of each episode. The podcast will capture the daters’ nervous anticipation, their hopes, awkward first moments, and personal end-of-date verdicts, as well as their movie reviews for the latest Sky Cinema releases.

The first episode will launch on all podcast platforms on 20th September 2023, as well as for the first time being available to watch in full on YouTube.
